Benjamin Keough, the son of Lisa Marie Presley and the grandson of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, has died at the age of 27. Benjamin reportedly died as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head.
Lisa Marie's representative, Roger Widynowski, confirmed the news and told the Hollywood Reporter, "She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter, Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life."
Benjamin was also the brother of Riley Keough, an actress, model, and producer.
Lisa Marie and Benjamin's father, Danny Keough, divorced in 1994.
Benjamin was found in his home in Calabasas on Sunday, July 12. Many fans of Elvis had recently noted Benjamin's strong resemblance to his grandfather, especially after Lisa Marie shared a photo of all her kids. Lisa Marie definitely agreed and seemed to love that her son resembled his grandfather.
In 2012, she even commented on the strong family genes. She told CMT, "Ben does look so much like Elvis. He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage. Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny."
Lisa Marie wrote a song about Ben that was released in 2012. The song, "Storm & Grace," includes these lyrics: "Stop moving so fast there, and then take your foot off the gas. My heart can't seem to take it, your storm and your grace."
The family has yet to release an official statement, and none of Benjamin's siblings or extended family members have said anything about his death. Benjamin was most recently seen in public when he attended the 40th anniversary of Elvis' death at Graceland.
