When a bully began to torment Phoenix Walwyn and her younger brother Kingston at school, the 8-year-old girl decided to take matters into her own hands.
Earlier this year, the siblings started riding the bus home from Pasadena's Turner Elementary School. That's when another kid on the bus began calling them names every day. Even after school administrators and the principal met with the boy involved, the name-calling continued.
Although Phoenix wanted to yell at the mean bully, she and her brother decided on a better solution: Get him a Bible.
"We gave it to [the bully] and two minutes later when it was almost his stop to get off, he just said thank you and I'm sorry for all the bad stuff I did to you," Phoenix said.
Since that day, there has been no more name-calling, according to the Walwyn children.
The children's dad, Vaughaligan, preaches at CT Legacy Church, and of course, he couldn't be more proud.
"I was like, 'really,' " Vaughaligan Walwyn said. "So, that kind of caught me off guard that it worked that fast or the kid was convicted."
The two siblings that were being bullied have since invited the young man to church.
