A member of the Eisenhower Junior High Band in Illinois suffered an embarrassment moment during a performance, but managed to redeem himself like a champ.
Andrew Pawelczyk's cymbal broke in the middle of the National Anthem. While he could've just stood there or even ran, the 13-year-old at the time opted for another solution. It's one you don't see every day!
After staring at it in disbelief for a few seconds, Pawelczyk used some quick thinking to salvage the performance in a very clever way.
At the 1:17 mark, I'm sure you'll be impressed. What he did will surely make every veteran proud. Perhaps he took a cue from the 11-year-old who left people speechless with his immense patriotism.
The young boy's smooth move became a YouTube sensation: The video has more than 8 million views and has received praise from tons of people.
"Everyone should be as professional as this cymbals kid at the 1:02 mark. This kids thinks quickly on his feet and will probably go far in life," one person wrote on YouTube.
Another said, "No better recovery in a pinch than that! That's some quick thinking! Makes me smile every time!"
