Nine-year-old Keaton Hamin might be the most selfless little hockey fan ever. When he won a signed hockey stick from Tyler Myer of the Winnipeg Jets, spectators couldn't help but envy him. As the boy was checking out his prize, seven-year-old cancer patient Alyx Delaloye, who was sitting near Keaton, ran down to see it close up. What she didn't expect was for Keaton to follow her back to her seat and give her the stick.
The touching moment was all caught on the Jumbotron during the game. Alyx, who was diagnosed with leukemia in July, was clearly shocked and thanked Keaton with a big hug.
It's beautiful to see such selfless acts — like the doctor who cares for the homeless at night or the cop who went beyond the call of duty to help a baby in need — go viral because it really restores your faith in humanity.
"It was really exciting when I got the sick but right away my instinct knew I had to [give it to] Alyx," Hamin told CBC News.
Hamin's dad couldn't have been prouder of his son.
"That was special," said Ken Hamin, Keaton's dad. "It really made me feel good and super proud that he did that."
Several weeks later, the two families attended another hockey game together. That's when the Winnipeg team had a surprise waiting for young Keaton. Before the game, he was handed a brand new, autographed hockey stick from the Jets as a way of saying thanks for his generosity.
Please SHARE this boy's generous act of kindness with everyone you know.
