Classmate Proposes To Young Girl, Then Her Dad Finds Diamond Ring In Her Backpack

Part of being young is playing pretend. It's a natural process that allows children to envision themselves in an alternate reality, and perhaps even in adult situations. This game, which can last for several years, is important in a child's growth and development. In part, this is how one's imagination is put to work!

I remember, when I was a kid, I loved playing pretend. My favorite roles were that of a wife or a mother, and I would parade my dolls around as if they were my "husband" or my "children." Of course, this game never translated into real life: I was too young to be married, and forget being a mom!

But a little girl and a little boy in the United Kingdom unknowingly made their union a little too realistic when a diamond ring was involved.

Tommy "proposed" to his classmate, Millie, one day at school. She came home and told her parents all about the proposal!

Her mom and dad undoubtedly took this like any parent would, with a grain of salt. They knew that this wasn't a real engagement, even when Millie said she had a ring in her backpack.

They assumed it was a gummy ring of sorts, but when Millie pulled it out of her bag, her father was taken by surprise: The ring was real and had three huge diamonds.

Tommy had stolen his mother's engagement ring to give to his crush! The sweet gesture even sent Millie's parents into fits of laughter.

The ring will undoubtedly be returned to its original owner, who will be very surprised by the story behind its disappearance!
