Boy Goes To Visit His Family And Never Returns, Then Mom Finally Finds Him One Year Later

When Callie Frith allowed her two-year-old son, Sterling Petty, to go visit family in Florida with his father's relative, she didn't know that he wouldn't be coming home.

The Mississippi mom had been dealing with an ongoing custody battle with the child's father for a while. Having her son see his family was important, so she handed little Sterling off to his relative to go visit his great uncle on his father's side. She was expecting her son to be returned safely to her arms right after the trip.

Unfortunately, Sterling never returned within the given time, and Callie grew more and more concerned. After Sterling was officially declared missing, Callie frantically made her way to the Internet for a larger network of people to help her find her son.

She created a Facebook page to spread the word about little Sterling, hoping that she could gain some leads from friends, family, and strangers.

Callie and her son had been separated for over a year until a ray of light shined over the horrible situation.

Sterling was finally located, with the help of local authorities and social media. Someone spotted young Sterling in a Florida daycare center and sent a tip, prompting investigators to make a move.

So what exactly happened? Well, Sterling's father had taken him when he arrived in Florida and kept him there to live together.

It's safe to say that Callie has full custody now.

Callie drove down to South Florida in order to be reunited with her beloved son. Their reactions to seeing each other for the first time in over a year really says it all.
