When I was a kid, the time just before school started was one of my favorite times of year. This was when my parents would take me shopping: I got new clothes, new books, and new school supplies. The smell of a brand-new notebook still brings me so much joy!
I was lucky to be able to afford all these wonderful things every year. The families of many kids, then and now, cannot. These were the tools that helped me learn and excel in school, and it's heartbreaking that others do not have the same opportunity.
10-year-old Tyran Bell is one of these kids. He understands that buying all of these things for both him and his brother would be a huge financial burden on their mother, who is taking care of their uncle following an accident.
That's when the student did the unthinkable: he went online, and posted a message without his mother's knowledge. But it was a message asking friends and neighbors to help him with the expenses by hiring him to mow their lawns.
It wasn't long before his mother found out, and she was touched by his thoughtful gesture.
After all, there aren't many kids with the same awareness as this boy!
Mom is obviously very proud of her son — and so are all the people who have heard this story and who have been helping him earn that money.
