She Doesn’t Feel Like Being A Mom, So She Leaves 13-Year-Old At Friend’s House

Nikki spent most of her life as a mother and wife, but when her marriage began to fall apart, she fell into a deep depression. To bring herself out of it, she did something unconventional.

She decided to "take a break" from being a mom. Nikki left her 13-year-old daughter with a friend 3,000 miles away, not for a few days, but for months. Like any child would be, her daughter was heartbroken.

To add insult to injury, photos of Nikki popped up on social media displaying her lavish life and constant drinking.

Her friends struggled to pay the bills while taking care of her child, yet Nikki constantly posted about her expensive trips at decadent hotels on Instagram and Facebook.

Now her daughter is begging her to come home and to stop behaving like a "child." Nevertheless, Nikki is adamant that she spent her entire life being a mother and doesn't want to be stuck at home "baking cookies."

The family appeared on the Dr. Phil Show to try and get through to Nikki. At first she was resistant. It isn't unheard of for anyone in a bad relationship to feel like they've given up a lot for their mate, but Nikki's daughter just wants Nikki to realize that she's not done being a mom yet.

Dr. Phil offers Nikki "every resource" possible to figure out how to balance her lifestyle. He makes her realize that it's not about making a choice between having fun or being a mom — those things aren't mutually exclusive. It's about making responsible lifestyle changes.
