Mom’s Breast Milk Leaks Through Shirt And She Embraces It Instead Of Being Embarrassed

Breastfeeding can be an amazing experience. It's an incredible way for moms to bond with their new babies.

Women have been breastfeeding for as long as babies have been around (aka forever), and it's always been basically the same. Of course, there are new products and doctor recommendations, but the fundamentals are the same: babies drinking from their mothers' breasts.

It seems simple enough, right? Well, not only is breastfeeding difficult for many women, it comes with a lot of side effects.

Ever wanted to have painful, cracked nipples? How about a terrifying infection, like mastitis? How about nipples that leak breast milk all over your clothes?

None of that sounds particularly fun, but they all are possible when breastfeeding.

Liz Sergeant recently returned from a shopping trip to find that breast milk had leaked all the way through her sweatshirt. Instead of getting upset, she snapped a selfie and posted it online.

On February 3, 2018, Liz shared the above photo on Instagram.

The picture quickly got over 100 likes and a lot of comments.

Liz wrote:

Thought this might make some of you mamas laugh and give those of you with bumps a little something to look forward to

This is what I see after getting back from the shops (I was not wearing a coat).

Doh!… And I’ve just realized (as pointed out by hubby on my return) this is the hoodie that he barf down the back of on Tuesday at yoga! There is actually sick in the hood!

Other moms immediately started commenting, explaining that they'd experienced this as well.

One woman wrote: "Don't worry I've been there too. Forgot to put a pad in my bra!!"

"Real life is the best life. I'm about to have my second and look forward to those mama moments," said another mom.

Some moms of older kids even said they missed the days when their breasts leaked milk.

"You're so classy. The funny thing is I kind of miss those days of leaky boobs and puke on my clothes," one woman wrote.

And leaky breasts aren't abnormal at all.

According to What to Expect, "Dripping and leaking breasts are normal in the weeks after delivery when your body is still getting the hang of making milk — and delivering it on a breastfeeding schedule."

Liz loves inspiring other moms with her healthy food posts.
