It's not uncommon to see blended families in which single moms and dads find one another but already have children from a previous marriage. Whatever the circumstances of a family's separation or division, we can only be happy for couples that find love and can rebuild their lives with each other. Children who wouldn't have otherwise met become siblings, strangers become parents, and hopefully everyone gets along!
It would be undeniably hard, though, for a young child to accept a stranger as a dad or a mom. All of a sudden, this person is in a child's life, and it could take some getting used to. But for some children, this stranger is the missing piece in their lives. That's exactly how a little girl named Megan felt about her mom's new husband, and she made sure he knew it at their wedding.
The little girl offers the groom a gift, and he tears open the packaging in front of all the wedding guests. He finds a poem, which he reads out loud. The sweet verses tell him how much he means to the little girl. But it doesn't fully register until he sees the papers underneath it: adoption papers. Little Megan wants to officially become his daughter!
