You’ll Cry When You See What He Does With His Special Needs Sibling

Zach Upshaw never saw his older brother Austin as "different." Even though Austin was born with cerebral palsy, visual impairment and microcephaly, and is unable to speak, his younger brother Zach has never been ashamed. Instead, he's always had a strong bond with Austin — trying to make sure he's able to enjoy every moment of life, just like a normal kid.

During a special segment on NCB's TODAY, Zachary was honored by his mom and dad. The proud parents wanted to show him how important his devotion to his brother has meant to them. Despite life's tough obstacles with Austin, Zach has always showed compassion and kindness to his 18-year-old brother.

"Zach will tell you his ultimate goal is when he gets to heaven to be able to see his brother run, and to hear him speak," their mom Christine said.

Zach, who plans to become a pediatric neurologist to help other children like his brother, couldn't stop gushing about Austin.

"I love him so much," Zach said. "My favorite part about him is his personality. He loves to mess (with us) and tease us as much as he can."
