When you drop your child off at school each day, you do so with the trust that they're being carefully watched and taken care of by teachers and staff.
And, if you're in a town that utilizes a bussing system, that same trust extends to the bus drivers who will be taking your little one to and from school.
The bus drivers may demand even more trust as their job has an added element of danger when compared with teachers as they're on the road.
It's also the driver's job to ensure that your child safely reaches his or her destination without incident.
Parents count on the fact that the men and women driving the school busses care about the children they're transporting and are doing their best to take care of them.
And, for the most part, this is true. Bus drivers become familiar with the children they drive each day and take pride in the importance of their job.
But, when a bus driver is less than careful with a child, the results can be terrible.
For mom Britney Stevens, she experienced firsthand what happens when a bus driver doesn't treat his or her job with the proper care.
Her 7-year-old daughter Kamiya accidentally boarded the wrong bus after school, and when the driver found out the little girl was simply dropped off on the side of the road.
She is doing just fine today, but the school has now instituted a new system to ensure a mistake like this never happens again.
