Watch As This 8-Year-Old Boy With Cerebral Palsy Beats The Odds To Complete A Triathlon

When you think of people you consider to be your heroes, chances are that those you're thinking of are older, smarter, and wiser. Before I saw this video, I would have probably been thinking along the same lines.

Now? One of my greatest heroes is 8-year-old Bailey Matthews.

But it's not just because Bailey overcomes struggles on a daily basis due to suffering from cerebral palsy (something we also saw 8-year-old Hunter affected by), and it's not just because he finished the grueling Castle Howard Triathlon, a feat that included a 100-meter swim, a 4,000-meter bike ride and a 1,300-meter run.

Bailey has become one of my newest heroes because of  his spirit, his determination, and his ability to inspire so many others, a majority of which were cheering him on at the finish line as he made his triumphant finish.

While I am now a BIG fan of Bailey, no one is more proud of him than his parents who say that Bailey took it upon himself to set the goal of completing a triathlon, following in the foot steps of his best friend…his dad.

While he may have used a specialized walking frame to help him navigate the course, the excited crowd is enough to give him the confidence to do it on his own, proving to everyone that heroes are always amongst us, and they come in all sizes and ages!

Please SHARE Bailey's story and inspire others!
