Chelsea Clinton Welcomes Third Child With Husband Marc Mezvinsky: ‘We Are Overflowing With Love’

Chelsea Clinton is now a mom of three! Chelsea and husband Marc Mezvinsky welcomed a baby boy into the world on July 22, 2019. Jasper Clinton Mezvinsky joins his older siblings, 4-year-old Charlotte and 3-year-old Aidan. The excited mom tweeted out news of her baby boy's birth, writing: "This morning we welcomed our son, Jasper Clinton Mezvinsky. We are overflowing with love and gratitude and can’t wait to introduce him to his big sister and brother."

The former first daughter first announced news of her pregnancy in January. Jasper is the third grandchild of former President Bill Clinton and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. He is also the 23rd grandchild for former US Rep. Marjorie Margolies and former US Rep. Edward Mezvinsky.

This pregnancy was also the third time that Chelsea and Marc decided not to find out the sex of their baby before birth, which was exciting for the whole family, including Jasper's very eager older siblings.

Chelsea Clinton has become a mom for the third time! The former first daughter and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, have welcomed their third child. Chelsea took to Twitter to announce the birth of Jasper Clinton Mezvinsky this morning.

The addition of another little boy was a surprise for the couple. Chelsea and Marc, who are already parents to 4-year-old Charlotte and 3-year-old Aidan, did not find out the sex of their baby before birth. They made the same decision with their previous two pregnancies.

Chelsea has been open about her kids' excitement for another addition to the family. She told People: "Charlotte is so excited to be a big sister again. And I think Aidan is mainly excited because his sister is excited. He just loves and looks up to his big sister so much."

The two kids are so excited that they've been keeping tabs on their mom throughout her pregnancy. "Every day, [Charlotte] talks about the new baby. She wants to know how the baby is doing and she wants to feel the baby," Chelsea gushed earlier this year. "Aidan, at 2½, doesn’t initiate that, but as soon Charlotte starts he’s like, 'Oh, baby! Baby!' And he’ll do a little dance, which is awesome."

Jasper is joining a large, loving family. While Chelsea's side of the family is rather small, Marc's side is enormous. Jasper the third grandchild for former President Bill Clinton and former presidential candidate and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Marc is one of 11 kids from a blended family. His mother, former US Rep. Marjorie Margolies, now has 23 grandchildren with the addition of Jasper. Chelsea has acknowledged that it's a "different dynamic" for her parents than for her mother-in-law.

Hillary was one of the first to share the exciting news of Jasper's arrival after Chelsea's announcement. She retweeted Chelsea's tweet and added: "Sharing some happy news this morning! Bill and I are so thrilled."

Chelsea has spoken out before on the impact becoming a parent has had on her. In 2015, she told People: "I didn’t know I could care more intensely about anything until I became a mom. Somehow I love my husband even more, I love my parents even more."

It's also inspired the causes that Chelsea advocates for and the work she does. "I feel even greater urgency about the work that I do, particularly around women and girls being a mom of a daughter," she explained. "And I think my love for Charlotte has just opened more space in my heart and my brain that I didn’t even know was there."

Being a mom even inspired Chelsea to write children's books. Chelsea has spoken on many occasions about how important reading is to engaging children and growing their minds. "I found books really empowering as a kid and hope that this book helps empower kids today," she explained.

Chelsea is the author of five children's books to date. Her latest, Don't Let Them Disappear, about endangered species, came out in April.

She's also tackled climate change and bullying in her previous books. "Particularly for young readers, books are not only a way to help break down and communicate ideas [but] stories of real empowerment," she explains.

Chelsea was out and about promoting her latest book throughout her pregnancy. The last photo of her and her bump was from New York City's Pride week, where Chelsea posed with the vanity street signs put in place for the occasion.

While anyone would worry about having their hands full with three kids, Chelsea's excited to be a family of five. The growth of her family serves as motivation to continue finding ways to empower and educate children, her primary cause.

Chelsea Clinton isn't the only former first daughter welcoming a baby this year. Former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager is also expecting a baby; she is due this winter.
