Chip And Joanna Gaines Share Adorable Baby Tradition You Might Want To Steal

For Chip and Joanna Gaines, tradition is everything. That shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to the former Fixer Upper stars' fans, who know that they're not only raising five children — including one newborn — but also running a restaurant, a magazine, a home goods shop, two rental homes, and a real estate business together. (Whew!) Maintaining family traditions — even something as simple as baking biscuits on weekends — adds a dash of stability to Chip and Joanna's otherwise hectic lives and creates opportunities for their family to bond.

Joanna recently took to Instagram to share a tradition that Chip is continuing with Crew, their youngest child, one that he started more than a decade ago when their eldest son, Drake, was born. If you're an expectant parent, you'll probably be tempted to start doing something similar when your own children arrive!

Their adorable brood includes daughters Ella, 11, and Emmie Kay, 8, as well as sons Drake, 13; Duke, 10; and Crew, 3 weeks.

Little Crew arrived on June 23, 2018.

"Our baby boy, Crew Gaines, is here and we couldn’t be more in love," Joanna told her Instagram followers the day her youngest was born.

"He made an unexpected (and speedy) entrance into the world two and a half weeks early — which is fitting given he was a sweet surprise from day one," she added. "Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful."

Chip was equally overjoyed with his son's arrival.

"And then there were 5," Chip tweeted just after Crew was born. "The Gaines crew is now 1 stronger! 10 beautiful toes and 10 beautiful fingers all accounted for, and big momma is doing great! #blessedBeyondBelief."

As were all of Crew's older siblings.

Joanna later posted this adorable shot of her four other kids waiting in eager anticipation outside the delivery room to meet their baby brother for the first time.

Since going home from the hospital, Crew has been "settling in just fine," according to Joanna.

He's a total "cuddle bug," she wrote on Instagram.

And Chip and Joanna seem to have adjusted well to life with a newborn again.

In April, the latter told People that they're excited to have kids around the house a bit longer.

"We think about things like when Emmie goes off to college, this little one will only be 10," she explained. "It’s just crazy to think how wide that gap is, but Chip just loves hanging out with the kids, and it’s just such a sweet thing."

The depth of Chip's bond with his children was evident in one of Joanna's recent Instagram posts.

Joanna shared this sweet photo of Crew on his dad's lap last week. See that hospital bracelet around his wrist?

"Chip started a tradition with Drake where he wore the hospital bracelet until it fell off," Joanna captioned the photo.

"Looks like the tradition lives on. #5," she added.

How sweet is that?

A few parents chimed in to say that they did something similar after their own children were born.

Too freaking cute. Keep us updated on the status of that bracelet, will you, Chip?
