This is either really genius, or really crazy — we'll let you decide!
Chip and Joanna Gaines, beloved creators of Magnolia Market and parents to five (!) wonderful children, recently sat down with People magazine to discuss how they manage it all — and still make time for themselves.
The couple ended their HGTV run in November 2017 after five wildly successful seasons of Fixer Upper, but even though fans were sad to see them leave their television screens, both Chip and Joanna have managed to stay very relevant, and rightfully so!
Earlier this year, the couple launched their incredibly cute and affordable home decor line at Target (if you haven't checked it out, you're seriously missing out). On top of that, Joanna released a new home design book called Homebody: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave on November 6.
Read on to find out how (and more importantly, why) these busy parents use the "wee hours" of the night to squeeze in some quality time together.
Chip and Joanna Gaines are two people who need absolutely no introduction, but we're going to introduce them anyway.
The handy couple has been married for over 15 years!
They have five beautiful children together: Drake, 13; Ella Rose, 12; Duke, 10; Emmie Kay, 8; and Crew, 5 months.
Joanna is clearly a cool mom.
Her home is filled with incredibly catchy and cute messages like this. Seriously, though, ain't nobody like a homebody! Can I get that tattooed on my forehead? Cool.
Recently, Chip and Joanna spoke to People ahead of their newest book release.
And they spilled all the details about how they make time for one another while raising their five children.
One of those things includes waking up at — get this — 2 in the morning!
“Chip will wake up at 2 a.m. and say to me, ‘Hey, you want to get up?’ I’m like, ‘Okay,'” Joanna told People.
“So he’ll make coffee, and we’ll just sit on the couch and hang out in the living room like old people, just because we have time," she continued. "It’s fun in the wee hours.”
Sounds pretty genius when you have a house full of kids, especially a little one like Crew!

However, those quiet moments don't last forever. "All the kids get up and life happens, but I’ll always have these memories," Joanna said.
It's very evident Chip and Joanna put family time — and alone time — at the top of the priority list.
And since baby Crew is getting a little bit older, Chip quipped, “It’s been three months of baby duty; now it’s time for date duty.”
