Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger's family has gotten just a little bit bigger!
The happy couple announced the birth of their second child. They first shared they were expecting in December 2021 after a bit of speculation. The two share 21-month-old daughter Lyla Maria, and Chris shares 9½-year-old son Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris.
In December 2021, multiple sources confirmed to People that Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger were expecting their second child together. The news came months after Chris said he'd love to have "as many [kids] as the man upstairs will provide."
The couple's first daughter, Lyla Maria, was born in August 2020. On May 21, 2022, Lyla became a big sister to a baby girl, Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt.
"We are so excited to announce the birth of our second daughter, Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt," Katherine captioned the post.
"We feel beyond blessed and grateful. Love, Katherine and Chris."
Katherine is one of many moms out there juggling it all. While she's very involved with her toddler, she's also a career woman between her children's books, her Instagram Live series BDA Baby (Before, During, & After Baby). She was reportedly over the moon to give Lyla a sibling to share her time with.
"Lyla is her world. She has help, but is also very hands-on," a source noted.
"They always hoped for Lyla to have another sibling. They feel very blessed."
In December, Katherine chatted with People about how much she cherishes being a mom.
"I've always wanted to be a mom and I have always really looked forward to this time in my life and been really excited about it," she shared.
"And I feel really just so blessed to be able to experience it and also experience it with my husband, and she's just the best."
"Lyla is the best baby and she's so happy and so smiley, and I know how lucky I am," she continued.
"I'm so grateful to be able to experience it and also be able to see my parents step into the role as grandparents, my two brothers as uncles, and my sister as such a hands-on aunt. It's been a really beautiful time and experience, and she's changed my life for the better."
Katherine said that her parents were an incredible example for her of how joyous parenting can be.
"My dad always just reminds me to just have so much fun, be playful, enjoy all of it, and my mom just reminds me all the time to be present in it because it goes by so quickly," she says.
"Both of my parents were so hands-on with all four of us kids that they just always share a variety of different tips and tricks as [Lyla] kind of goes through all of these changes every single month."
Surely the addition of Eloise Christina to the family will make the family dynamic that much sweeter. It's a great time for Katherine and Chris as they flourish as individuals, a couple, and a family.
