Chrissy Teigen has expressed a lot of gratitude for the outpouring of love and support she and husband John Legend received after their experience with pregnancy loss. Chrissy and John lost their third child, whom they call baby Jack, in September 2020.
Recently, Chrissy revealed one of the people who had reached out to her. It was none other than Meghan Markle. Meghan spoke out about her own experience with pregnancy loss in November, having miscarried that summer. The two women have bonded over the experience they sadly shared.
This isn't the first time the two have crossed paths. Both appeared as briefcase models on Deal or No Deal early in their respective careers.
Chrissy Teigen's recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live was one for the books. Not only was Chrissy her ever-entertaining self, but she also opened up about a new friendship in her life. Chrissy has made a friend in Meghan Markle.
Chrissy and Meghan came to connect after Meghan reached out to her. She offered her support following the loss of baby Jack in late September 2020. Meghan had experienced pregnancy loss herself that summer, when she experienced a miscarriage she wouldn't publicly disclose until that fall.
The two women have crossed paths before, when they appeared as briefcase models on Deal or No Deal early on in each of their careers.
"She's been so kind to me ever since we connected on — she had written me about Baby Jack and loss, but yeah," Chrissy shared with Andy Cohen.
"She is really wonderful and so kind, and just as kind as everyone says she is."
Chrissy says that Meghan's kindness has just made it that much more frustrating to see how she's treated by the British media.
"And that's why you look at everything and are like, 'My god, what is absolutely wrong with people where they have to make this person out to be so malicious or so crazy when it's just as simple as them being as kind as everybody says they are?'" Chrissy said.
"So yeah, she's a really wonderful person."
Chrissy also confirmed that she's spoken to Meghan since her interview with Oprah Winfrey aired.
"I think when I ended up watching it, it was like,' Holy [expletive], this is big.' But I also waited a long time to watch it, so I had already heard so much about it by the time that I got to it. But yeah, it is — I mean, very eye-opening," Chrissy said.
"Very eye-opening."
That said, she didn't get any further information into anything Meghan and Oprah discussed.
"Extra tea? Um, no. Honestly, no," Chrissy said at the question she may have heard some dish.
"She's been very open about what she's been open with, and I think honestly her truth has been her truth since the very beginning. So, no, I didn't get any extra extra."
Now that both women are living in California, it would be something to see this friendship IRL once playdates feel safe again. After all, Miles is just a year older than Archie, and the two little boys playing together could be the sweetest thing. But more than anything, it's fun to imagine Meghan getting to let her hair down a little with Chrissy.
The thing that bonds these two women is obviously tragic, but one of the beautiful things that's come from it is the comfort they've brought other women who have been through these same difficult situations and felt isolated. Their strength has helped empower other women, and now they're also empowering each other.
