We're afraid it comes with the territory.
When you are an international supermodel and television personality, you're going to attract a large social media following. Which means that Chrissy Teigen has to deal with a whole lot of trolls in her comments section on Twitter and Instagram.
And as a mother of two, there's a huge number of critics for every single image she posts of her children. "Why are you doing this!?" and "Why aren't you doing that?!" Because apparently a lot of grumpy humans have nothing better to do all day but sit and critique celebrities on the internet.
But this isn't new territory to Chrissy. She's the sassiest celeb online and has no problem clapping back at her haters. So when she started catching heat for a photo she posted of her and her two kids on Instagram, her response to the negative comments was absolutely perfect.
Everyone, meet Miles Theodore Stephens!
Chrissy and John Legend's second child arrived in mid-May, meaning the little guy is just over a month old.
They decided to name him after jazz legend Miles Davis. And in case you were wondering, "Stephens" is John's given last name.
The little guy is already a star on his parent's Instagram accounts — but like we said, not all the feedback is positive.
Which is sort of crazy to think about, considering how cute this family is!
But now to the controversial picture of the day...
Chrissy is posing with Luna and Miles at a beachside restaurant. And as you're about to see, she was completely aware of the criticism she might catch for posting this.
This was her original caption for the photo, before the commenters got involved. Meaning the mama of two knew what was coming.
Here's the major critique of the photo:
There are other angry mentions in the comments: "Why is that baby out in the sun like that… that’s why he crying" as well as "Poor child is crying & taking in the sun !! sheesh."
But the one above is the lucky number that Chrissy actually decided to respond to.
It's classic Chrissy — a perfect balance of nonchalance, humor, and telling the haters to shut up.
But don't worry. The trolls, as always, were in the minority.
The vast majority of the comments are filled with support for Chrissy.
All sorts of praise for Chrissy and her children's beauty was being thrown around.
Take our word for it: While Chrissy did get a few upset comments about keeping Miles out in the sun, there were many more along these lines.
Some people who had seen the negative comments even decided to respond.
Our sentiments exactly!
This is not an uncommon compliment on Chrissy's social media; moms who are insecure or looking for a little courage often draw strength from her posts and the way she carries herself.
But maybe most important of all is this note: It doesn't matter what the haters say. You do you, mama!
