Chrissy Teigen Reveals She’s 4 Weeks Sober When Responding To A Fan Comment

Chrissy Teigen casually made a candid admission on Instagram that has fans rooting for her.

The 35-year-old TV personality has been through an incredibly difficult year. Throughout the holiday season, fans and friends of Chrissy and husband John Legend have been checking on the family. Understandably, the holidays are a hard time for any family that has experienced loss. With Chrissy's devastating miscarriage coming just weeks before Thanksgiving, no one would blame either of them for having a rough time.

Since speaking out on the death of their third child, whom they refer to as Jack, John and Chrissy have tried staying positive to get through. Chrissy has been honest about the fact that it isn't always easy, but their two children, Luna and Miles, have helped tremendously.

For the holidays, the Stephens family traveled to St. Barts. On Tuesday morning, Chrissy shared a video from their getaway where she dances around as she sings (and quickly forgets the lyrics to) "Good Morning" from Singin' in the Rain. Someone made a joke about Chrissy's sobriety in the comments of the upbeat clip, at which point Chrissy revealed she's four weeks sober.

Chrissy Teigen is working on an area of her life she's long found to be problematic. The 35-year-old model and TV personality has been through an emotionally trying year. From learning she became pregnant naturally after being told she couldn't to losing that baby tragically, Chrissy's year has seen some serious highs and lows.

Despite their turbulent year, the family has tried to make the most of everything. They're always reiterating their gratitude for what they have in life and the support system around them during the hard times. So far, it seems to be working well for them as they make beautiful memories with 4-year-old Luna and 2-year-old Miles.

For Christmas, Chrissy and the family traveled to St. Barts. She's been sharing a lot of scenes from the fun-filled trip so far. It was in the comments of one of these photos that Chrissy made an admission that caught fans' attention.

On Tuesday, Chrissy shared a video where she dances around to "Good Morning" from Singin' in the Rain. While she botches the lyrics pretty quickly, she looks so genuinely happy that fans were excited for her. One fan even noted they needed some of whatever put the pep in Chrissy's step.

"I need whatever drugs you're on," one fan joked.

"4 weeks sober," Chrissy replied with heart and prayer hand emojis.

Chrissy hasn't elaborated further, but the comment has her fan base seriously rooting for her.

We don't know what's behind Chrissy's current decision to get sober, but she's expressed discomfort with her relationship with alcohol before. In 2017, Chrissy and John were traveling with Luna before preparing to hunker down for a second round of IVF. During that time, right after a wellness retreat in Bali, she talked to Cosmopolitan about her drinking.

"I was, point blank, just drinking too much," she said.

"I got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine. Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show. And then a bunch at the awards show."

"And then I felt bad for making kind of an ass of myself to people that I really respected," she continued.

"And that feeling, there's just nothing like that. You feel horrible. It's not a good look for me, for John, for anybody."

Chrissy, who has previously been a spokesperson for Captain Morgan and Smirnoff, also noted that Hollywood doesn't exactly make matters easier.

"Imagine everything we have," she said.

"Everything is there, always. I don't know how to go to an awards show and not drink."

During that interview, Chrissy explained that there is a history of alcohol abuse in her family. She didn't delve too far into specifics, but noted she's realized she's the kind of person who "can't just have one drink." At the time, she was also worried about how it was interacting with her postpartum depression and anxiety medications.

"Nobody really brought it up to me," she said of not drinking.

"They just assumed that it was OK because I always felt OK the next morning. I knew in my heart it wasn't right. It makes you very short with people. People think it's cutesy and fun to go on these boozy brunches, but there's more to it. I've never once been like, 'I'm sure glad I had that boozy brunch!'"

Chrissy also considered going dry in 2013. "I used to think it was kind of nutty to have to go totally sober," she admitted.

"But now I get it. I don't want to be that person. … I have to fix myself."
