There's an old saying, "It's no use crying over spilt milk." But as any mother who has pumped knows, it's absolutely acceptable to cry over spilled breast milk!
You go through all that work and discomfort, and then the smallest little accident — bumping into a table, or getting distracted by the family pet and knocking the bottle over — can cost you several ounces of that precious white gold. It happens to everyone at some point, and every time it's a tragedy.
Chrissy Teigen, one of the sassiest and funniest moms on the internet, just experienced a breast milk spill. Instead of getting frustrated and throwing the breast pump across the room — which is a totally acceptable reaction to something like this — she decided to film her recovery efforts. As you'd expect, the results are completely relatable and absolutely hysterical!
To every mom who knows this feeling, buckle up and get ready to sympathize.
Little Miles Theodore Stephens arrived two months ago.
And the little guy has been a star on his mom's Instagram ever since he arrived.
This is John and Chrissy's second child; their daughter Luna turned 2 in April. This isn't the couple's first go-round with a baby in the house.
On this second journey, Chrissy has been much more public about her breastfeeding.
She and John have shared multiple breastfeeding pictures on Instagram.
The caption for this one makes sure to specify that the right nipple is being claimed by one of Luna's dolls, per the precious 2-year-old's request.
John posted this image on Father's Day, saluting his wife for double-pumping on the way to their date!
But being transparent about your journey as parents means showing the good and the bad.
First of all, how great is that caption?
It looks like she's using a turkey baster to suck up any possible milk.
And then Chrissy transitions into using — what is that exactly? A tiny dust pan? Either way, you can see just how important it is to recover all that she possibly can.
The comments below the videos were full of support, sympathy, and some legitimately great advice.

Who knew? Expectant mothers need to jot this down immediately for future reference!
Unfortunately, a lot of the responses to Chrissy's video are from moms who have experienced similar situations.

And of course, it wasn't just the women chiming in; dads also know just how precious that milk is and can sympathize with how important it is to protect it at all costs.

"Same girl, same" — literally every other mom who saw this post.
There were a few jokes in the mix, too, from people who have different liquid priorities…

The responses weren't all about breast milk. Some people tried saving other liquids from the floor, as well.

It seems that the only thing more relatable than weeping over spilled breast milk is weeping over spilled alcohol.
And then there's this final response that stood out from the rest:

It's clearly just a clever bit of advertising from an ambitious social media manager, but if this has ever happened to you, you should be aware that devices exist for this precise purpose.
And if you're as famous as Chrissy Teigen, they'll apparently just send it to you for free!
