Christina Ricci has had a whirlwind couple of years. Shortly after divorcing her first husband, cinematographer James Heerdegen, whom she married in 2013, she found love with hairdresser Mark Hampton. She didn't hesitate when it came to building a new life together.
Christina and Mark got married just a few weeks after announcing that they're expecting a child. This will be the second child for Christina, who has a 7-year-old son named Freddie with her ex.
So, who is Mark? Sources state he's a London-based hair stylist who's worked alongside several different brands. He's also worked with several celebrities, which might be how he and Christina first crossed paths.
Fans were able to tell that they made the relationship official by Christina's chosen caption of "Mr. and Mrs. ❤️ ." It seems like the wedding was casual, yet still incredibly beautiful. It's safe to say that a wedding between a stylist and someone who's been in the industry since childhood would look phenomenal no matter what.
Christina also looks happier than ever. While she's had a lot of big changes all at once, it's incredible to compare alongside some of the photos when she was still dating James. James, whom she met on the set of her short-lived show Pan Am, ended things with the star after she got a restraining order against him and reportedly feared for her life in his presence.
Christina has claimed that her relationship with James had gotten violent multiple times. While it can be difficult to leave a situation like that, Christina was very brave in doing what was healthiest for both her and her son.
Just this March, Christina and James set out a custody plan for their son, Freddie. He was allowed to visit Vancouver, Canada, with Christina, as she was planning to film a project there.
Hopefully, Freddie is excited to be a big brother. In August, Christina revealed the news on Instagram. She posted a picture of a sonogram with the caption of "Life keeps getting better. ." Soon after, she tagged Mark in the image.
Having a child was a complete game-changer for Christina the first time around. Freddie was born in August 2014, and she said her perspective on everything changed.
"It's made everything in my life actually important and matter," she told People. "I now have to take things seriously, and I never did before."
"I want to succeed for him," she said. "My choices matter more." And it's possible that in leaving her first husband, she had Freddie's well-being in mind as well. As reports claim, many of the physical attacks from her husband happened in front of their son.
Even her social calendar changed when Freddie was born. And it's likely going to look very similar once her second baby is born.
"Most of my social things are play dates now," she told the publication. "I barely ever go out at night unless it's work related. It's all lunches."
Based on what we can tell about her new husband, he seems to have a lot of personality. And he also seems incredibly proud and enamored of Christina. He's posted multiple photos of the actress on his own Instagram account.
And it looks like he's also played a big part in a lot of these photo shoots. It must be nice having your own personal stylist involved in making sure you look your best. As Mark wrote in one caption, "Just the best to work with the ones you love @riccigrams so much fun and looking insane amazing."
It seems like these two knew they were right for each other the second they met. Hopefully, both will share photos from when their baby arrives. But right now, they should bask in the newlywed bliss. And if we're lucky, maybe they'll share some more incredible photos of the big day as time goes on.
