When 13-year old Cody Alicea was told to take his American flag off the back of his bike, he had no idea his story was going to spread all over our great nation.
It all happened when Cody saw some of his classmates proudly waving the Mexican flag in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. Cody decided he wanted to show off his pride and patriotism for the United States of America, so he put an American flag on the back of his bike. He assumed that was where the story would end — but unfortunately, he was wrong.
It seems as if the people in Cody's school district were a bit distraught at seeing Old Glory. They informed him that waving the American flag would make him a target and that he should take it down for his own safety. But when real Americans heard what had happened to Cody, they were understandably enraged at the school's behavior.
About a hundred people, many of them amazing bikers from the Patriot Guard, assembled outside of Cody's school for one amazing reason: they wanted to say the Pledge of Allegiance. These men and women wanted to show their respect for the symbol of our great nation, and by the end of this video, when you look into Cody's eyes, you'll see how moved he was.
What these amazing people did to support a 13-year-old boy whose only crime was loving his country will leave you as speechless as Cody was. Thankfully, Cody is once again waving his flag without fear of getting into trouble with his school — he's even received an official apology from the school district. We can safely say that this young patriot fought for his country and won!
