Cop Consoles Little Girl After Her Mother And Sister Were Injured In Car Wreck

When Baton Rouge, LA, police officer Duke Staples arrived at the scene of a car crash, he was brokenhearted to see a little girl all alone and scared.

He rushed out of his cruiser and picked the 4-year-old up into his arms. The car accident had happened a mere minutes before, and that tiny girl's 12-year-old sister and mother were still trapped in the wreckage. The girl had miraculously escaped any serious injury, but she was left barefoot to wander around the car as her mother and sister were left trapped in the car.

When Staples saw the perilous position the little girl was in, he did everything he could to get her to look the other way. He pointed at a distant light, and did everything he could to calm her down. As EMS crews arrived at the scene, he kept all of his energies focused on that girl. And it wasn't until a family member arrived to take her away that he finally rested.

While the little girl's mom and sister will need some time to heal, thankfully, they will recover from their injuries. This police officer did his job perfectly, humbly, and sweetly to a little girl who just needed to be hugged. Thank goodness there are men and women out there who can keep us safe both physically and emotionally.
