From time to time, civil servants and people in positions of elected authority do some less-than-agreeable things that manipulate their privileges for self-gain, and it’s a real bummer when it happens. Occasionally we’ll see a video pop up of a citizen questioning the intentions of such instances of overreaching power — but we rarely see such intuitive pursuit of justice from children.
Police officers put their lives on the line for citizens every single day. The majority of men and women who do join the force do it to make our cities safer places to live. We posted a sweet video recently of a cop who pulled over after a report of a rabid pit bull was placed by a concerned citizen. The dog turned out to be a sweetheart, of course (not even the least bit aggressive as the anonymous caller had implied). The way the cop responded warmed our hearts, and that’s certainly not the first time we’ve seen random acts of kindness by police on LittleThings.
The below video is one such video that reminds us that people still do some shady things with the power they wield, even if they’re small things. A cop had parked his motorcycle outside of a market to head in for a Big Gulp, but when he comes out he’s approached by a very intelligent young teen who inquires about his badge number and the reason he’s parked illegally. The cop responds in a less-than-ideal manner, proving the kid to be the adult of the situation. But this just goes to show that sometimes kids are the bad behavior police we need.
