‘The Costco Bride’ Reveals How She Creatively Used Store To Save Big On Her Wedding Day

Weddings are an expensive affair, and with inflation making the cost of weddings go up every year, many brides-to-be are looking for creative ways to save money. One popular option is becoming a “Costco bride” — a bride who shops at the major retailer for her wedding supplies in order to save thousands on her special day.

The couple saved $20,000 by DIYing parts of their wedding.

As Laura told the Post, "I purchased all of my roses and greenery, in bulk, from Costco for $480. That saved us over $9,500 alone."

According to the Post, another bride, Willa Eigo, had only three weeks to plan her wedding and needed a cake quickly. After getting high bids from bakeries, she decided to run to Costco and get a sheet cake for $50.

Another bride, Jennifer Pangan, would shop Costco and always check out the engagement bands in the jewelry case. When it came time for her boyfriend to pop the question, she got a 1-karat ring for $6,000 at Costco, which is $4,000 less than retail value.

Hailee Crawford went to Costco's spirits department to load up on drinks for the wedding. She planned to charge guests $2 per drink, which helped her and her husband recoup the costs of their wedding. As she told the Post, "We knew Costco sold high-quality alcohol at good prices. So, it was our plan from the start to book a wedding venue that would allow us to supply our own liquor."

Another couple always wanted to go to Hawaii for their honeymoon, so they got a great deal on a stay in Hawaii from Costco — a seven nights at the oceanfront property of Koloa Landing resort for $5,000 — a considerable savings over the $7,500 list price, according to the Post.
