It seems like an impossible feat: hiding a growing pregnant belly for 9 months, up until the moment the baby is about to arrive.
But believe it or not, Katie and Tannin Pease, parents to two boys, were successful — for the most part.
The couple suffered through two miscarriages before their third son, Saul, was born, so they didn't want to announce their pregnancy too soon. They decided to wait at least four months before telling friends and family.
When they reached the four-month mark, they decided to push their luck and wait all nine months before spilling the beans. This meant that Katie had to stay indoors most of the time. The couple came up with creative excuses to decline invitations to family events, but couldn't escape some people. Tannin's father, for instance, was told when he visited the couple at home. As for Katie's parents, who live far away from her, the couple communicated with them through video chat only.
Just hours before Saul was born, the couple announced both the pregnancy and the upcoming birth on Facebook, much to everyone's surprise!
It was Tannin's mother's reaction that was perhaps the most memorable. She visited her son and daughter-in-law at home and had no idea what kind of surprise was waiting for her inside!
