Coming up with ways to get our kids to eat healthy when they're at school can be a challenge. Some parents try to "hide" healthy foods in other food (like brownies made of spinach). Other parents try to bargain with their kids: "I'll give you a bag of chips if you eat all your carrots!" And other parents…well, they do things a little differently. They create actual works of edible art using everyday foods!
David Laferriere draws something new on his kids' sandwiches every day, while creative mom Shannon Carino has been making bento lunches for her two little ones that are almost too beautiful to eat. These parents take school lunches very seriously, and even though I never got past the "changing up the lunch meat every few days" stage when it came to my kids' lunches, I can certainly appreciate what these parents have done for their little ones!
This just goes to show that anything can be turned into an art — even sandwich bags! So the next time you want to brighten your son or daughter's day, try to think outside the (lunch)box!
