Stranger Reports Creepy Clown Sighting, But Mom Says It’s Just Her Son Playing

Recently, there has been confusion over the source of "creepy clown" sightings. These clowns have appeared to be lurking around playgrounds to scare children. Some believe these clowns are perverts, while others think they might be promoting a movie. No one knows.

In Henrico County, VA, a creepy clown was recently spotted inside of a car. The clown rolled the window down and waved to another driver.

The picture circulated around the web, then mother Holly Brown spotted it. She was mortified to learn it was her 12-year-old son everyone was fussing about.

Her son, Angus, who has autism, loves Stephen King. He bought the famous Pennywise costume for Halloween. He was in the car with his grandmother at the time and was going to surprise his mom with the outfit.

"There was no malicious intent. He's just a kid excited about his new costume," Brown said about her son. "He was never a threat and is a very sweet child with autism with a newfound love for Stephen King stories, hence the 'It' costume."

In Virginia, it's against the law for anyone over the age of 16 to wear a clown mask, along with any other mask that can conceal their identity.

"We all agree that he must save his Halloween costume to be worn at Halloween functions, only due to the current scary clown sighting situation," she said. "This clown was simply a little boy in a new toy."
