Sure, kids may be too young to operate heavy machinery, but it’s never too early to help with the yard work! From an early age, kids can learn how to weed a garden, rake the leaves (if only to immediately jump in a pile of them), and water plants to help out around the yard. Not only does this (ideally) take some of the work off of the parents, but it can also be a bonding activity, as this father and son duo show!
When this kid gets old enough to use the real lawn mower, his dad may have to find innovative ways to turn this chore into a good time. He should take a tip from this dad, who made a trash transporting vehicle out of a Go-Kart for his daughter and never had to haul garbage down the driveway again. This dad who tricked out a Power Wheels with a leaf blower also inspires a great “chore toy” idea.
Sure, the youngster in this group may not actually be cutting grass with his toy mower, but he’s having a blast imitating his dad mowing the lawn. If only we all could find lawn mowing so fun.
It’s cute to see him go over the spots that his dad just mowed — it’s like he’s doing a quality check on his dad’s work! Something tells us that these two will be very close as the years roll by!
