School Holds A Graduation Ceremony At The Hospital For Teen’s Sick Dad

Graduating from high school is an incredible milestone in every teen's life. Celebrating their achievement with family members by their side makes it all the more poignant, knowing how proud they have made their loved ones as they take that walk across the stage and hear them cheering from the stands.

I remember that overwhelming feeling of love and happiness as I strolled over to my grab my diploma years ago and how it inspired me to continue making strides as I entered college life.

Sadly, for Stoughton High School senior Guy Eddy, he knew one special person would be missing from his ceremony. After losing his mom as a young child, Guy's father is now battling liver cancer and didn't have the strength to leave the hospital for the big event. His dad was in an awful mood the whole day, often getting upset with his nurses, completely heartbroken that he couldn't be there for his son.

However, when his teachers heard about the unfortunate situation, they knew something needed to be done for one of their favorite students.

Gathering together several staff members and their principal, Guy got the chance to show his dad his accomplishments when they brought the ceremony into his hospital room the very next day. Donning robes for a second time, emotions were definitely high as nurses clapped along and his dad beamed up at Guy. While he prepares for college in the fall, there's no doubt this amazing moment will be cherished forever.

Take a look to hear more from Guy and be sure to SHARE the beautiful gesture with your friends and family!
