Dad Takes An Afternoon To Build A Huge Slip ‘N Slide With His Two Sons

The summertime is such a wonderful time for families to create memories. With the warmer weather and brighter skies, there's so much more opportunity to go and enjoy the great outdoors together.

My family used to take vacations to Cape Cod every summer. We'd spend all day at the Beachcomber in Hyannis, boogie boarding in the freezing cold water under the hot sun. By the end of the day, we were all exhausted, and each had our fair share of seaweed bits to wash off in the shower, but it was so nice to have that time together as a family.

When we weren't on vacation, swimming in the murky waters of Massachusetts, my brothers and I were probably playing in our backyard. My mom and dad were always close by, either watering the garden, cleaning out the garage, or right there with us playing in the sprinkler.

Slip 'N Slides were huge when I was little, and they've only continued to provide hours of summertime fun in the years since. If you're lucky enough to have a nice expanse of a backyard, like this family, then you can make your own huge Slip 'N Slide all on your own.

This dad took an afternoon to construct a homemade waterslide in his backyard with his two little sons. It only took a few materials and a fraction of an hour, but this is an afternoon that these boys will remember for years to come.

How do you and your family spend your quality time in the summer?
