Create Your Own Custom Ariel Doll That Looks Like Halle Bailey With These Steps

Is anybody else counting down the days until they can see Rob Marshall’s live-action The Little Mermaid? The trailer makes it look incredible, and the new Ariel, played by the beautiful and talented Halle Bailey, has already captured the hearts of little boys and girls around the world.

One of the really cool things about this new version of The Little Mermaid is that it’s reaching a whole new generation with a cast that is much more inclusive.

If you’ve ever had the urge to get creative when it comes to gift-giving for your kids, making your own custom Ariel doll could be a really cool present. HeXtian posted a video on Facebook Watch that shows you how to make your own Halle Bailey-inspired Ariel doll in a few steps.

The important first step is taking the doll that you have on hand and getting rid of the hair using a good pair of scissors. You can also remove the face paint by using a cotton pad and a little acetone or nail polish remover. She will look a bit funny once she’s completely hairless and faceless, but it really gives you a blank canvas to start from.

If you’re looking to give your custom Ariel doll those signature red locks that look similar to Halle Bailey’s, all you have to do is get yourself some red yarn.

When you’re rerooting the hair with yarn, you’ll want to skip some of the little holes, especially around the forehead, as it takes up extra room inside the head. Hot tip: You’ll likely want to unravel all of the yarn hair pieces to give Ariel that undone wavy hair look.
