Dre Kirkpatrick isn't your average football player. The Cincinnati Bengals cornerback is all about giving back to his community, which is why he hosted a tailgate party at a nursing home on Thursday.
Dre arrived with games, treats, and music for the residents at Loveland Health Care Nursing & Rehab Center. He probably hoped and expected that the seniors would dance and enjoy themselves. But he likely wasn't expecting one of them to own him in a dance battle.
A 95-year-old resident, Irma Shafer, began dancing with Dre when the DJ started to play a mashup of Dr. Dre's "The Next Episode" and Warren G's "Regulate." Unexpectedly, Irma got totally into the music. The rest of the crowd clapped and cheered Irma on as she broke it down.
Soon, Dre was having trouble keeping up with Irma's epic dance moves!
Irma definitely outshone him and won the dance-off, which is why this video is going viral. It's a great example of why you're never too old to have fun.
Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick threw a tailgate party at a nursing home in Loveland, Ohio, last Thursday.
Dre brought games, music, and treats for the residents to enjoy. And when the DJ threw on a Dr. Dre and Warren G mash-up, one 95-year-old resident really got her groove on.
Irma Shafer ended up in a dance battle with Dre — and she gave him a run for his money.
In fact, the internet pretty much agrees that Irma won.
But Dre took it all in good stride.
He even tried to give Irma a high five, but she was too busy dancing! So he settled for a handshake.
An Ohio news station posted a video of Dre and Irma's dance battle, and the internet simply cannot get enough of it.
People are seriously inspired by the nonagenarian's moves.
Which are proof that you can have fun at absolutely any age.
Because age is just a number, after all.
This is just Dre's latest effort to make a positive impact in the world. In July, he treated students from his hometown of Gadsden, Alabama, to a shopping spree for clothes and shoes.
It seems like "making people's day" is Dre's special talent.
And he definitely made Irma's.
Who's ready for round two?!
