Is this a case of a duck mercilessly bullying a dog…or is it simply unrequited love? You be the judge.
Before I moved to New York City, I lived on a farm in Westchester County in Upstate New York. My mom is the coolest animal lover around, so we had pet pedigree ducks that we hatched in an incubator and kept through adulthood in a well-equipped pen in our backyard. Though I may look like your average city person, I actually consider myself something of a duck expert.
So, in this case, I've gotta weigh in and offer my expert opinion: I don't this the duck (adorably named Crispy, according to Youtube) is trying to bully Jackson the dog. Quite the opposite, actually. I think chubby little Crispy believes that Jackson is his furry mother. It wouldn't be the first time we've seen this kind of interspecies ducky-doggy bond…and I doubt it'll be the last!
