People Photoshopped New Tops Onto A Photo From Queen Elizabeth’s Recent Speech And It’s Perfect

You can always count on someone on the internet to have fun whenever possible. In this case, it's a whole bunch of people having fun on the internet. While watching Queen Elizabeth's recent speech, several people couldn't help but notice that Her Majesty had presented anyone with Photoshop skills a present: She was wearing a green dress.

If there's one reason why people on the internet love the color green, it's because it's so easy to manipulate in Photoshop. The color green is also used for chroma keying, when an editor compiles two photos together. While the color green is not strictly required, you do need a uniform background to make this successful. Green and even blue are often used because the colors are so distinct from various skin hues — there's less risk of accidentally lopping off part of someone's face when the color is so different from the rest of that person.

So, as the internet tends to, people spotted the Queen's ensemble and really made the most of it.

Several people jokingly commended the Queen on providing what the world really needs right now: Photoshop bait. And I have to say, the idea of Queen Elizabeth wearing a brightly colored top with a truly befuddled cat on it is especially entertaining, especially since we all know that she's really more of a dog person.

Luckily, this person quickly remedied the situation after some called his Photoshopping "disrespectful." We all know Elizabeth loves her dogs! Elizabeth has been fond of the dogs since she was a kid, and even bred her own until a few years ago. She has reportedly owned more than 30 corgis during her reign.

Given the popularity of the Netflix documentary Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, it shouldn't really be a surprise that some people really wanted to see the Queen donning a shirt that references the film. This may even attract whole new generation of Queen Elizabeth fans!

However, my personal favorite has to be this truly glorious creation: Queen Elizabeth II wearing Queen Elizabeth I. Can you even imagine if the two had ever had the opportunity to meet? It almost makes you hope time travel will be real one day. Like, in Queen Elizabeth II's lifetime.

For others, a stoic and somber speech about a global health crisis is still no reason to shun any potential advertising. I wonder if Subway knows about this? I kind of think they'd love it, but maybe not. The person who posted it also wrote, "Banksy don't steal this I know you want to" in reference to the street artist.

Other wildly popular versions found the Queen donning tops that reference popular memes from 2019 and 2020. Who's to say the Queen isn't a fan of Baby Yoda? I sincerely hope she and Prince Philip are spending part of their time at Windsor Castle catching up on any episodes of The Mandalorian that they may have missed.

Another personal favorite is simply captioned "Queen went to college" and features Elizabeth wearing a red T-shirt with Che Guevara's face on it, a nod to the same T-shirt often worn by college students. One commenter wrote that the caption should be "Tengo una remera del Che y no sé por qué," which translates to "I have a Che shirt and I don't know why."

And of course, it appears that "Commander Lizzie" is by far the crowd favorite. The Queen is seen wearing a captain's uniform from Star Trek. One person wrote, "It makes sense, she'll probably be around in the 24th century and an Admiral in Starfleet," while another added, "EMH, the emergency monarch hologram. Could come in pretty handy."
