It’s always a good idea to turn a negative into a positive. This concept has helped people with special needs find jobs. It’s led to magical wedding surprises. It has transformed puppies into speedy, robot-like cyborgs.
Father and reddit user Gfgrubb decided to take the phrase “turn that frown upside down” to heart when he found out that his adorable baby girl, Layla, would have to wear an eyepatch for two hours a day due to a genetic disorder.
She was born with a small cataract that clouds the vision in her right eye, which, if not treated correctly, can lead to amblyopia (better known as "lazy eye"). In order to fix this problem, Layla needed to cover her strong eye daily so that the weak one could strengthen and develop correctly.
The eyepatch and the strain of the weaker eye made Layla quite the fussy lady, as you can imagine, so Dad attempted to make her giddy by doodling on her eyepatches, and he did a pretty remarkable job.
Do you think this is a cute idea? If so, what would you have drawn on the patches? I know what I would have drawn. An apple—because obviously this little girl is the apple of her daddy’s eye.
