Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford, has a thing for tattoos. And that's cool: So do I. But Presley apparently has a specific thing for face tattoos and, in fact, has added a second to his face tattoo collection.
Last month, Presley had the word "misunderstood" tattooed onto his cheek. Now he's added the Los Angeles Dodgers' logo. He defended getting the tattoo on Instagram, writing, "Most and a lot of people can get a face lifts, change genders, lip injections, etc and it's offensive to say anything in today's day in age. But I get a little face tattoo and now people love to hate me.. Hmmmm?"
Presley has also wiped his Instagram account of all of his images except for three, one of which features his newest tattoo. Reactions to his newest ink have been mixed, with a lot of fans asking Presley to stop tattooing his face. But ultimately, this is his face, so he can do with it what he wants.
Presley isn't the only celebrity with face tattoos. There are actually quite a few of them out there!
One fan commented that getting a face tattoo without having to really consider the possible repercussions is a sign of privilege:
“If there is everything in your life that others want, you do what nobody wants. This is called spoiled and full of a good life. Go to Africa, live there for a year without money and water, go to Russia in the north, where you have to work a lot with your hands and your own strength to survive in the cold. Then maybe you will start to appreciate what you have.”
However, Presley is hardly the only celebrity with face tattoos. Anwar Hadid, brother of Gigi and Bella Hadid, has three dots tattooed underneath his right eye. However, his dad seems to totally support the tattoo. He wrote, "Brings out your beautiful smile and not to mention them HADID eyes," in a comment on Anwar's post.
Actress Amanda Bynes also has facial ink. She recently shared photos of a small heart tattooed on her left cheek. Her fans were a little concerned when she debuted the tattoo online because Amanda has a history of mental health struggles, and it seems some worried that she might not have made the decision in the best frame of mind.
Singer Post Malone has numerous facial tattoos. He explained to GQ, "It does maybe come from a place of insecurity, to where I don’t like how I look, so I’m going to put something cool on there so I can look at myself and say, ‘You look cool, kid,’ and have a modicum of self-confidence when it comes to my appearance."
Kat Von D, who began her career as a reality TV tattoo artist and now owns her own beauty company, has stars tattooed over one of her eyes. She loves her face tattoo and has said that she considers the ink "a symbol of being able to be heavily tattooed and still carry yourself in a feminine way."
Rapper The Game has his own collection of face tattoos. He started with a butterfly but covered that up with "LA" after receiving public pushback. He also has a teardrop under his left eye. He said, "You know what, when I was growing up, if you did something within the confines of the gang you were from, and you were able to get a tattoo in a certain space and I don't know, I thought that reward was pretty cool. So I got my first tattoo, which was the teardrop, for doing the wrong thing and after that it was tattoo after tattoo. I probably got about 100. Over 100."
Former boxer Mike Tyson also famously got a tribal tattoo around one of his eyes in the early 2000s, and he still loves it. He told Sports Illustrated, "A lot of stuff happened out of this tattoo, a lot of good stuff. Other young athletes come to me and said, It's because of you they call it the Mike Tyson. People have to register their tattoos. You have to have the likeness of your tattoo."
Singer Justin Bieber also has two face tattoos. He has a little cross next to his left eye that is a nod to his religious faith, and he also has the word "grace" tattooed above his right eyebrow. The latter was part of a deal he made with his wife, Hailey. His tattoo artist told Page Six, "They each got a tattoo. Justin's tattoo is on his face."
Singer Aaron Carter has a giant face tattoo that spans from his forehead down to his chin. The tattoo is a portrait of the singer Rihanna as the mythical Gorgan Medusa. He also has the word "love" on his face, along with a crescent moon. A friend, who is also a tattoo artist, has reportedly asked Aaron to reconsider adding more tattoos to his face.
And of course, musician and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has a ton of tattoos. He has said that 70% of his body is tattooed: "For me it's documenting part of my life or people, things, times in my life. When I'm dead and gone I want people to be able to look at my body and basically relive my life in some ways."
