Woman’s Fiancé Becomes Paralyzed Right In Front Of Her, Then She Responds With Incredible Words

Meg Alexander was excited to marry the love of her life, Brett Greenhill. Then a tragic accident interrupted their wedding plans.

The couple was enjoying their weekend-long joint bachelor–bachelorette party at Meg's mother's home in Naples, FL, on the weekend of December 2.

"It was so much fun, everyone had a blast," Meg tells People in the video below. That is, until her husband-to-be was found floating motionlessly moments after going for a swim at the beach.

"Brett went into the water and all of a sudden my friend Kelsey says, 'Why is Brett doing that? Why is he floating like that?'" she explains.

At first Meg thought her "goofball" future husband was just joking. But when her friend Kelsey, a nurse, went to check on him, her screams said it all.

Kelsey immediately flipped him over. "Help me, Kel," Brett said. "I can't move."

Then Meg ran over to Brett. "I can't feel anything. Meg, I love you so much and I'm so sorry," he said. "I love you so much."

Meg replied: "I love you. Don't be sorry. We're going to figure out what's wrong with you."

Meg's mom immediately called 911 and the couple was airlifted to the hospital. Doctors believe Brett became paralyzed by hitting his head against a sand bar.

Although doctors say there is only a one percent chance that Brett walks again, Meg isn't giving up on her man. "We're holding on to that one percent chance because if anyone will do it, it's Brett," she says.
