In the summer of 2015, four young Texas brothers watched a news report about a 75-year-old resident of the community who was issued a warrant for her arrest — because her grass was too tall.
Even though they had never met Gerry, and the hot sun was beating down, the boys decided to load up their parent's truck and mow Gerry's entire yard. They said it was the least they could do.
"It's a summer day, we don't have season passes yet to Hawaiian Falls. What else could we do but go out and help some people," said Blaine, one of the boys who participated in this awesome act of kindness.
The boys began to brave the tall, vast grass and the 90-degree heat to help an elderly woman in need. Once the brothers got started, other residents in their community joined. Together, they were able to mow the woman's entire lot in just a couple of hours.
Gerry says she's not often speechless, but on this day, she was. In fact, she was touched to tears.
In the video below, watch the touching moment Gerry meets the four brothers, and thanks them from the bottom of her heart.
After the grass was cut, Gerry said she planned on speaking to the judge about getting her warrant dropped.
This is the kind of story that restores your faith in humanity, regardless of age.
