Gavin Rossdale made an appearance on the Not So Hollywood podcast Thursday, where he opened up about what it's like co-parenting with his ex-wife Gwen Stefani. The former pair share three sons together. Kingston is 17, Zuma is 14, and Apollo is 9.
The musician opened up about how he and Gwen have opposing views. "We're really different people," he explained.
But the 57-year-old singer doesn't see this as a bad thing. He actually believes that the differences between him and Gwen are beneficial to their sons, giving them more perspective on life.
"I don't think there's much similarity in the way we bring them up," Gavin shared. "But I think that gives them an incredible perspective to then choose which pieces of those two lives they'd like to inherit and move on with and which part of themselves come out of the whole process."
"I think you can go one of two ways — you can either do everything together and really co-parent, and see how that goes — or you can just parent," he explained. "And I think we just parent."
He went on to share that he believes giving his kids a wide view is important. "I think it'd be really helpful for them to make their own minds as individuals."
Gwen and Gavin got married back in 2002. They filed for divorce in 2015, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized in 2016.
Gwen moved on and married Blake Shelton in 2021. The pair met in 2014 on The Voice.
Gavin was last reported to be dating actress Courtlyn Cannan. It is unknown if the two are still in a relationship.
