When we're kids, our parents like to instill certain values and rules that they expect us to follow for the rest of our lives. This includes basic rules of behavior that allow us to be functional citizens in society. Such rules include not talking to strangers, putting a napkin on your lap when eating with others, and not picking objects off the street, no matter what they are.
But we don't always follow these rules, especially when our attention is captured by every little thing around us. 6-year-old Chloe ignored her dad's warning and continuously picked through the trash on the side of the road while on walks with her family.
Of course, any parent would discourage such behavior, and her dad never stopped telling her to leave the trash alone. But one day, he was startled by one of her finds.
She had found an Olympic gold medal from the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
The medal had been stolen from whitewater canoe slalom champion Joe Jacobi when his car was broken into. All of his possessions had been found and returned to him, except for the medal.
Weeks later, he can hold the treasure in his hands again thanks to the curiosity of one little girl!
