12-Year-Old Girl Saves Her Father’s Life By Using CPR

Knowing how to properly perform CPR is a skill that is vastly underrated. Now, many kids are learning it in school, and it's proving to be a life-saving technique! The odds of ever needing to use it are perhaps slim, but you don't want to take that chance in case someone you know or someone near you is in a crisis.

Although the procedure for CPR seems simple enough, it can be performed wrong and become ineffective on an individual who is in the midst of a heart attack. That's what happened when Joe Thomas was suffering from one, and his wife stepped in to help.

The father had just finished mowing the lawn when he called his wife to say that he didn't feel well. When she and her 12-year-old daughter, Aerin, came home, they found him "turning different colors" before he collapsed. But as the mom tried CPR, Aerin stopped her. She had taken a class on how to correctly perform CPR just two months before, and realized that her mother was doing it wrong.

Joe spent nine days in the hospital, but it's thanks to his daughter's knowledge that he's alive today!
