Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana just welcomed their fifth baby, a boy named Oscar! The chef announced the happy news with an Instagram post.
"After 3 baftas and one Emmy… finally we have won an Oscar, please welcome Oscar James Ramsay, who touched down at 12:58 today for some lunch ! Xxx," he wrote alongside four adorable photos of the newborn.
Gordon and Tana broke the news of their pregnancy three months ago on New Year's Day. They shared a video of the family wishing everyone a happy new year, then showed Tana's growing baby bump. The announcement came just 11 days after Gordon and Tana celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary.
The couple already has four older children: Megan, 21;Â twins Holly and Jack, 19; and 17-year-old Matilda. They previously lost a baby boy in a tragic miscarriage in June 2016, making their joyful birth announcement all the more exciting.
No empty nest syndrome for this happy couple!
Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana have been married for 22 years. For a long time, they shared four children together, all of whom are older now: Megan, 21; twins Holly and Jack, 19; and Matilda (Tilly), 17.
On New Year's Day 2019, the Ramsays announced some huge news: They were expecting their fifth baby. They posted the announcement as a family with a cute video on Instagram.
The end of the video pans to Tana's stomach, which sported a big baby bump. She rubbed her belly. Fans were ecstatic about the news, and the wait for Baby Ramsay No. 5 began.
On Thursday, Gordon posted the news on Instagram: The baby had finally arrived! They named him Oscar James.
"After 3 baftas and one Emmy… finally we have won an Oscar," Gordon joked in the caption of the post, continuing, "please welcome Oscar James Ramsay, who touched down at 12:58 today for some lunch ! Xxx."
Oscar isn't even 24 hours old, and he already has his own Instagram page. No posts yet, but he does have one famous follower (Brooklyn Beckham).
The Ramsays couldn't be happier to welcome Oscar into the family. Both Tilly and Holly reposted the photo from their dad's page with loving captions.
Oscar arrived almost three years after Tana and Gordon suffered a miscarriage in June 2016.
They lost a baby boy they named Rocky at five months. The loss was devastating, though Gordon told the Daily Mail that it also brought the family closer.
"You realize how lucky you are and you reflect on what you have, how fortunate you are with your remaining children and you remind yourself of what you’ve got," he said. "It’s made the family unit even tighter."
The happy news of Tana's next pregnancy came shortly after the couple celebrated their 22nd anniversary. They weren't particularly looking forward to empty nest syndrome with all of their kids growing up and moving away – but now, they won't have to!
Gordon explained on the Jonathan Ross Show:
"Tilly, Tana, and myself took Jack down to the college last week. Man, that was hard. We put him in his little room, left him some fettuccine and pasta for him to cook, student food. Left him there, and I got in the car and I was a mess. My best mate has just left me. And then the next day we put Holly into university. I was like, 'Man this is tough!'"
Tana has been pretty under the radar since the news of her pregnancy was announced. She did, however, celebrate a baby shower in London with three out of her four children.
We'll have to wait and see whether Oscar follows in his dad's footsteps. Gordon's youngest daughter, Tilly, released her first cookbook in 2017, and she says her dad does not go easy on her in the kitchen.
In the meantime, we look forward to enjoying many more adorable photos of baby Oscar. Hopefully that Instagram page gets put to good use!!!
