If you're lucky enough to have your great-grandma around, then surprising them to make them happy should be a regular occurrence. A lot of people aren't lucky enough to have their great-grandparents, let alone their grandparents, around for all of life's milestones.
That being said, this family definitely did their good news announcement the right way — much like this family who tried to tell their family that they were going to have a baby, but the grandparents just couldn't figure it out!

It was their grandma's anniversary. So, naturally, their whole family came together to celebrate. Little did she know, she was about to get another amazing reason to celebrate on this day.
After pulling out a onesie that reads "worth the wait," she realizes that she actually is going to live to see the day she becomes a great-grandma, although she wasn't sure if she would.
Her reaction is the cutest thing! And her whole family laughs at her comments, so I think it's safe to say she's been hinting at wanting this gift for a while.
