In need of a pick-me-up? Look no further than this funky throw-back.
“Groove Thing” is a group of 11 girls between the ages of 7–11 joined by one adorable little boy named Ben, who generally fronts their routines. We first met Groove Thing during their audition on Britain's Got Talent last week. When they took the stage, no one was quite sure what these tweens had in store.
“When this group of kids walked out for their Britain’s Got Talent audition, the judges, just like myself, had no clue what to expect,” wrote LittleThings writer Caroline Bayard of last week's performance. “They seemed a bit skeptical, but as soon as they heard that unforgettable 1978 tune to ‘Shake Your Groove Thing’ by Peaches & Herb, the fun instantly began.”
And they certainly stick to their theme in the video below, if not beefing it up with even more disco fever than before. The turned the nostalgia all the way up for a compilation mix of all the disco classics, complete with glimmering bell-bottomed body suits and disco hair to match. And what would this '70s flashback be without its flashing lights and disco balls? They may not be the finalists of this season, but it’s impossible to watch these Groove Thing dance without cracking a smile.
