Boyfriend Stages Sweet Proposal With Help From Dogs Bride-To-Be Rescued During Hurricane Harvey

If you've so much as been on the internet over the past couple years, chances are that you've seen a number of epically romantic proposals.

In fact, you begin to wonder how people ever used to propose without a camera crew, a crazy activity like skydiving, or an elaborate setup with friends and family.

Proposal expectations might be running high these days, but when it comes down to it, it's the thought that really counts.

One man can certainly check thoughtful off his list after proposing to his girlfriend with the help of her friends and a number of the dogs she helped rescue from the Hurricane Harvey aftermath in Houston.

According to CBS New York , when Toronto-based Curtis popped the question to his bride-to-be, Nicole Simone, he got the answer he was looking for.

When you see the gorgeous photos and adorable rescue dogs involved, you'll understand what all the fuss is about.

When Nicole first shared the beautiful proposal photos on Twitter, she received a lot of love from the community and anyone who came across the lovely news.

CBS reports that Curtis, the groom-to-be, got the idea for this proposal after he went with Nicole on a road trip down to Houston to rescue pets in need.

Nicole runs a volunteer group at the Toronto-based shelter Redemption Paws.

Between his animal-rescuing activities and his proposal-planning skills, you can tell Curtis is a thoughtful man.

It's easy to understand why Nicole was so happy to say yes when Curtis popped the question.

What makes this proposal even more adorable is that Nicole's friends came with the dogs they helped rescue from Houston with her.

She tells CBS:

My best friend had adopted Poppy (first from left); Rupert was a palliative dog from Houston and his foster mom came four hours to be there with him (he has cancer); Destiny a rescue dog was there with Denise and Malakai is one of my favorite pit bulls.

Each dog even (sort of) helped carry a sign. For instance, Malakai, pictured above, has certainly come a long way from wandering the devastated streets of Houston.

Of course, some of the dogs weren't quite as photogenic as the couple.

Here, Nicole jokes, "Poppy came from Houston after Harvey but preferred to show her butt during photos."

None were quite as cute as Rupert here, who Nicole explains, "MVP the Chihuahua from Hurricane Harvey who came to help ask!  Rupert!!"

Let's hope that the endings for these rescue dogs are just as happy as the couple was on the day they got engaged.
