One family has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season, after a priceless heirloom that went missing six weeks ago was finally returned!
In early October, the more than a half-century-old heirloom diamond and sapphire ring was flushed down the toilet by Mehvish Tapal's 3-year-old son. Their plumber was unable to track down the ring, so they thought it was gone forever. As a last ditch effort, the family called the Union Sanitation District (USD). Weeks passed with no sign of the ring.
Finally, two workers recovered the heirloom ring from the sewer more than six weeks after the family's toddler flushed it! When it was returned, it was still in pristine condition, and the family call this miraculous rescue a real miracle.
