Cheena the dog is a hero, and it's all because of her mothering instincts. When she heard a baby crying in the middle of the night, a dog named Cheena left her newborn puppies and her human family to investigate and found a newborn infant that had been abandoned by his mother.
Cheena cared for the baby all night, and it was only after someone heard the baby crying that both Cheena and the infant were found — under a bridge in a town near Bolgatanga in the Upper East Regional Capital of Ghana. Cheena had the tiny baby snuggled against her near her family's farm.
Authorities say that if Cheena hadn't kept the baby safe through the night, she very likely would have died.
This is such an amazing story – and proof that animals really do understand us better than we know! Nothing is strong than a mother's love!
