HGTV Star Defends Putting Her Infant Next To Her Big Dog After Bullies Try To Mommy-Shame Her

Mina Starsiak has been having an awesome year. For those who don't share in our deep-seated HGTV obsession, Mina is one of the stars of Good Bones, where she flips houses with her mom, Karen Laine. The pair, who refer to themselves as 'Two Chicks and a Hammer," have been teasing season four of Good Bones. Mina also recently became a mom herself, welcoming a baby boy named Jack with her husband, Stephen Hawk.

Mina is learning what it means to be a mom in the spotlight. She's been pretty open with sharing her journey throughout pregnancy and her first few months as a new mom.

Of course, sharing your life publicly means you're opening yourself up to criticism, as so many moms have learned in the social media age. Mina recently posted a sweet shot of Jack alongside one of her three dogs, Frank. The sight of the tiny 2-month-old lying with the large-breed dog seems to have upset some of Mina's followers, but she's not standing for it.

Mina announced her pregnancy with this super-creative movie-style poster featuring her husband and her fur babies.

The look on Karen's face when she hears the news says it all!

Mina kept her fans up to date on her pregnancy as her bump grew.

As you can see, her dogs were excited for the new addition, too. They couldn't wait to have a new baby brother.

She also continued filming Good Bones during her pregnancy — something that wasn't easy. Any expectant mom can tell you how exhausting it is to grow a little human, let alone work a full-time job through the pregnancy.

Everyone was happy to see Mina taking a break before her baby boy's arrival.

Baby Jack made his debut on August 9 at 4:15 a.m., weighing 6 lbs., 1 oz.

Jack is absolutely adorable with those big eyes and that head full of hair!

It wasn't long before Mina was tackling working while being a new mama.

She shared plenty of pictures of baby Jack, like this one of his "blue steel" look.

When Mina shared this photo of Jack with his puppy brother, Frank, fans were nervous to see such a small baby with such a large dog. They shared concern for Jack in the comments.

It didn't stop Mina from posting a similar photo for Jack's 2-month milestone. She even added a message for those who were concerned: "if at all possible, those of you that feel the need to warn me of my dog potentially eating Jack, please try to resist

In the comments, Mina's fans had her back, letting Mina know that she's not wrong for trusting her pup and her instincts. Plenty of people allow their pets to interact with their babies under circumstances that are supervised and safe.

Mina's going to continue to ignore naysayers and take in the magic of everything that's happened in her life, from her career to her family and everything in between.
